Purpose of the role

General Administration

  • Creating accounts in the Payroll system, and databases and making employment contracts.
  • Estimating the turnover, then controlling store working hours, amending, and maintaining rosters moderately, and managing the rosters to staff weekly.
  • Mobilizing available staff to solve worker shortages.
  • Submitting relevant documentation of employees’ changing shops and promotions as required.
  • Calculating working hours for preparing payroll for submission monthly.

Payroll Administrator

  • To maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into payroll software.
  • Familiar with using payroll software. Proficient in Sage 50 Payroll preferred.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee statutory and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers’ compensation payments.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Determines the organization’s tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions.
  • Process leaver payments and issue P45 documents in a timely manner through Sage50.
  • Carry out all payroll input accurately by appropriate deadlines.
